Guys, I'm working on a secret project and I'm anxiously awaiting a delivery of 50 pounds of fresh clay.
Happy Friday. I don't have to work today, so I'm going to go drink too much coffee.

The first thing I need to do is figure out the shrinkage rate for my new clay, since I have to meet some ballpark specifications for each piece in this project. The plan is to take measurements of the piece while it's on the wheel and then take measurements after the final fire. I don't think I need to measure at the bone dry stage or after the bisque fire, since I'm not sure those figures will be useful to me. But if you have other thoughts about this, let me know. I've never paid too much attention to sizes, so this is new territory for me.
I'm really excited about this project and I can't wait to show you pictures along the way!
On an unrelated note, I made a new pitcher. It's not quite Ludacris status, but I think it's probably fit for a dinner party with Jay-Z. (Jay, your invite's in the mail.)
Happy Friday. I don't have to work today, so I'm going to go drink too much coffee.

Nicole
